I don't think it's true that Qualcomm is inexperienced in neuromorphic computing. Back in 2016-2017 they were on the verge of launching their own neuromorphic chip. From memory they switched to developing a software stack and inexplicably leaving the neuromorphic chip behind.
It's curious with the social interaction between Qualcomm and Brainchip, plus functionality similar to Akida.
I agree that the most plausible explanation, although not the only possible explanation, is Akida in Qualcomm.
There still remains a lingering doubt as Qualcomm did venture into neuromorphic chip design and does have some patents in that direction. They could have been flying under the radar?
