An extremely painful and unimaginable tragic experience; the feeling of anger and betrayal surely cannot be erased. I was not prepared to have the AZ vaccine until the D variant surfaced. The risk surely outweighs any short comings. But that is an individual’s choice we are fortunate to have in Australia. I do not fear death but I fear the hurt and pain those who I leave behind will suffer with my demise. This is clearly what happened with the family of your friend’s brother. A parent losing a child is the most horrific of the human experience. Life’s order was not designed that way. Your choices should be respected and although herd immunity isn’t possible with this drug, at least our inadequate hospital system will be free for serious accident and emergency admissions. That unfortunately is the shame of it all.
