I went the the Cellestis agm this morning and remain further convinced than ever, that shareholders are on a long term winner.The highlight for me was hearing Dr.Radford point out that there new marketing slogan is "Quantiferon-tb gold,there is no alternative".The company is spot on in adopting this philosophy (Imho) as a marketing tool,because they have the hard data to support this claim. Attached is the link to Dr.Rothels 26 page slide presentation this morning, which can easily be opened up.Go straight to slides 6 & 7 and read in conjunction with the following remarks from Dr.Rothels address. The asx announouncements web site lacks colour (in respect of Dr. Rothels presentation), and is therefore useless for graphs like those used by cst this morning. [5] I would now like to describe the results from a significant clinical study of the QuantiFERONTB

Gold test, conducted in Japan by the Japanese Research Institute of Tuberculosis at nine

different hospitals. One aim of this study was to determine if the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test

detected patients with proven active TB; or in other words, the sensitivity of the test. The

second aim was to determine the specificity of the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test, which could be

described as the percentage of people who do not have TB infection who give a negative test

result. For this, over 200 young Japanese, all BCG vaccinated, but with no risk factors for TB

exposure, were tested.

[6] The results for the Mantoux test are shown in the first graph. (SLIDE 6) The left hand column shows the

percentage of patients with TB who were Mantoux positive in red and those who were Mantoux

negative in blue. The Mantoux test detected 66% of the TB patients as positive. The right hand

column shows the same information for the people who were uninfected, with 65% being

positive by the Mantoux test. These data clearly demonstrate why the Mantoux test has little if

any utility in BCG vaccinated populations. Just as many people without TB were Mantoux

positive, as were those who were truly infected.

7] The second graph (SLIDE 7) includes the data for the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test. The left hand

column shows that nearly 90% of the patients with TB were test-positive, a significant

improvement over the 66% for the Mantoux test. The second column from the right shows that

more than 98% of the uninfected people were correctly identified as negative by the

QuantiFERON-TB test.

For the QuantiFERON-TB test there is a clear and obvious distinction between uninfected and

infected people, independent of BCG vaccination status. In contrast, the Mantoux test cannot

discriminate between TB infection and BCG vaccination.
