Quantify has been featured in theApril/ May ‘assistive technology and housing’ edition of Access Insight magazine.

The magazine is run by the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA), a professional association for people working to achieve accessibility in the built environment for all. It is the peak national body for access consultancy in Australia and a major partner in advancing equity of built environmental accessibility for people with a disability.

Access Consultants and members of ACAA are primarily occupational therapists, architects, building certifiers, people with lived experience of disability and other aligned professionals, such as orientation & mobility instructors, disability advocates or support people.

Quantify Technology was approached by the magazine to write an article, covering the theme of assistive technology and housing.

The Company’s CEO Brett Savill welcomed the invitation, and wrote an article about the advantages of smart home automation in disability and aged care living, when it comes to increasing a client’s quality of life and sense of independence. He also covered how smart technology can reduce costs and increase safety and hygiene in a home, with the current global COVID-19 pandemic in mind.

We were lucky enough to receive additional commentary from St John of God Health Care Projects and Technology Director Nicole Jahn and St John of God Accord CEO Lisa Evans, in relation to the technology-enabled home built by Victorian-based St John of God Marillac (Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) provider) in partnership with St John of God Accord (Supported Independent Living provider), to meet the needs of their clients with intellectual disabilities and complex needs, as set by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) SDA design category.

Harvey Norman Commercial Division Smart Technologies Manager Kris Leffler also added his perspective.
