There are many references to requiring millions of qubits for the quantum industry and the problems manufacturing in that quantitiy. The references to how silicon chips work........they correct the errors as they compute. A quantum computer will have to incorporate a correcting component to do the same. This apparently is a major problem due to the speed of a quantum. Even a small % of error can fill a huge memory in minutes. The Sydney group have made major gains in this error figure. My laymans view is that they have to find a silicon 'link' for the error correction during computing to reduce the memory required. I assume the IBM machine has overcome the error storage problem by doing it in their " cloud"......possibly a huge capacity that only big players have. Looking forward to more breakthroughs from the industry.
