The issues posed in the video are caused in an attempt to get around what's called the redox shuttling effect. Which is arguably the biggest impediment to the commercialisation of Li-S. It's a tricky one. Li-S are so exciting because of their energy density and theoretical charging speed. Although charging fast, they previously lost significant battery output after charging (short battery life). Do you remember those recharge kits you could buy to recharge household batteries?! Whenever you would charge the battery it would have significantly less output. That's the same problem with the Li-S battery.
BUT, and a beautiful but at that is BNNT nanofilm around the lithium anode fixes all of these problems. BNNT really is a super material!

As Magpie mentions above, there is still plenty of upside here. $50+ within the next 12 months is certainly on the cards if we can get these JVs firing.
