Pretty sure the options themselves just act like regular shares. So if you hold them greater than 12months, you'll be eligible to the 50% CGT discount, therefore no real need to exercise if you're intending to sell the options within the next 12 months.
Do note that the options expire in 12 months time which will mean you will need to exercise them by then which would restart the CGT discount clock to date of exercise I believe? So if you're intending to sell in 12-24 months time, it would make sense to exercise them now.
