While I understand your comments and why you make them, I think you’re unduly pessimistic. There are not many certainties in politics, but a change of government in Queensland at the election next October is the closest I’ve seen to a sure thing for a long time.

Queenslanders demonstrated their values and common sense when they comprehensively rejected the Voice proposal last month — the strongest No vote of any State or Territory (69%). There’s no way, in my view, that they’ll give AP another term when she and her government are blighted with such an appalling record of incompetence and mismanagement. Whether Crisafulli & co will be much better we’ll have to wait and see, but I’ve listened to him carefully and am reasonably impressed. Certainly, they couldn’t be worse!
