On it's own maybe but with all the add-ons it can compete.
The company I work for was going to go for a large ERP but have decided to get Xero and then use the add-ons for any missing pieces.
The price difference is amazing. You can get Xero with a few good add-ons for $1000 a month and set up the system with existing IT staff. ERP was in the $100's of thousands
