Some of us had a fair idea that the '$10m left' throwaway comment from two weeks ago was BS. 20m ahead of expectation is worth almost two pips. Brent crude going up three bucks last week should be worth about 200 pips. At some stage quality analysts and fund managers will look look at energy again. At the moment we are at the mercy of cubicle rats whose idea of research is having a ciggie on Adelaide Terrace with the bloke from the company across the road.
