Dear readers,
LME tin price continues to surge, climbing above 000 to reach the highest price point in a year. Speculative interest has also lengthened to just over 2,000 contracts net long reflecting the extent of current supply challenges. After a two-month absence of exchange trading in Indonesia, trading resumed on the JFX from March 5th although there is still no activity on the ICDX. There has been some progress on RKAB and license renewals, but it is still expected to take some time for Indonesian exports to return to typical volumes. An evolving contrast in market dynamics between China and the rest of the world is becoming apparent, evidenced by opposing trends in LME and SHFE stocks.Tom Langston - Senior Market Intelligence Analyst
