Found this map in a report on the analysis of ASTER and IKONOS Images for the Identification of Hydrothermally-Altered Mineral Exploration Sites in the Carajas region conducted by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. From what I can gather, the garimpo pit in Serra Verde was used as a control point for the identification of other mineral zones in the region.
If nothing else, it gives an idea on the possible extent of the anomaly that has been identified to lie approximately 200 metres below the pit. I don’t think the report was subject to copyright so I think I am OK in posting it here.
