Everything is speculation from where I sit as I am not close enough to the action to actually know. However I do know that XStrata have been on a copper tenement buying activity of late for example see the recent ORD River announcement about Copper flats (virgin unexplored territory with a sniff of copper rock chip samples, pretty good ones though. Whatever Xstrata was intending to do is now somewhat under the influence of recent buyout talks of Xstrata - was it Glencore ?(for example Wandoan and Surat rail link seems to have been put on hold I am told). So what Xstrata wanted to do and what will happen now may be 2 different things. So if the shorting (which is what I think you are are referring to) does not stop now then I would say we are simply up against a consortium of powerful fundies washing the Margin funded and Super shares. As I said i have no idea. All just froth and bubble at the end of the day (wait for mining and see what happens then !!!!!!)
