In view of the unsatisfactory answer from the company, and in the absence of a further acceptable explanation, it would seem appropriate to ask the directors at the AGM to allow the shareholders to appoint an investigatory accountant to examine the books. The BOD rejection of such a request would be a statement of self-condemnation.
