Oilers make finds that are non commercial...it happens all the time. Check out the other 80+ listed oilers. In the case of Price Lake there will at least be some recovery of costs, probably over 50%.

There is nothing wrong with making a provision for the write off of the capitalised costs of Lake Price. Its called informing the market and conforms to the legally required financial reporting. If they had not mentioned the write off now,but included it in the June quarterly as done you would be the first person to say they should have alerted shareholders to this earlier.
