Agreed Joel... Considering ALL new subscribers start off on a free trial (currently 8-10 weeks) it is key lead indicator to future subscriber numbers.

With the extended trial periods now on offer, it helps explain the drop in paying subscribersdive to the 5% churn in the recent quarter - 5% churn would equal around 5k subscribers. This churn was not replaced in full with new paying subscribers due to the extended trial periods and these customers still falling in to the 'trial customers' category. Net result was the decline of 3500 subscribers (ie. around 1500 new paying customers came on board during the qtr).

It absolutely needs to be recorded in the the quarterly!
