Another thought.
It has taken time for it to sink in that covid will be with us for the long term.
Wishful thinking has slowly been replaced with the sober reality that even vaccines hold a number of caveats, including likely short immunity boosts, low uptake until they have been around long enough to be deemed safe, etc...

Just as we get flu shots every year, we may have to get covid shots every 3-4 months, perhaps indefinitely.
The deeper acceptance of this possibility will make investing in remote learning solutions more than just an impulse buy for a short term crisis.

You can add the increasing likelihood of more frequent emergence of new viruses as we continue to encroach further on the wild reservoirs of viruses, continue industrial, high density livestock farming, and temperatures continue to rise...

Even if outbreaks of covid19 become fewer and further between, the ability to send kids home for a couple of weeks, but for classes to continue while the school is cleaned up and contact tracing is carried out, is appealing, I'd imagine.
