Traditionally, Justices of the Supreme Court used to have a PA, Associate and a Tip-staff. (A Tip-staff was a court officer who, for a simple explanation, was their personal valet.)
Recent times have seen the Tip-staff become obsolete and be replaced by (Occasionally) a second Associate.
These Associates conduct valuable research etc and source previous related outcomes, records and associated historical records to assist HH complete his judgment. But the actual Judgment will be written by HH and he alone.
One must remember, Associate are effectively admitted to the bar and are fully qualified graduate lawyers who have HH present on the panel that selects them from the best of the best.
They are pretty damn smart kids..!!!
