QUB Blue Mountains train derailment

At just after 0430 this morning, QUB intermodal train number 8114 that originated at Warren South (a truncated branch line from Nevertire, past Dubbo NSW) and was bound for Port Botany carrying TEUs of cotton derailed in the Blue Mountains at Linden.

Allegedly there is damage to track circuits (devices that 'tell' signals when trains have passed over a section of rail, and an essential element in trackside signals regulating trains' progress) all the way from Lawson, 10km further from Sydney.

Buses are replacing trains between Springwood and Katoomba.

I've not seen a suggestion that the derailment was especially serious (i.e. no locomotives or wagons have toppled over or similar) but as yet no visibility on when this busy rail line may reopen.
