Many 'HC' threads have a similar page for chats between major company announcements.

QUB in recent years has a history of overdelivering. The FY 2022 result was excellent. It's a well run company.

However the decline in the SP may well be due to external factors that are impossible, or difficult, for QUB to respond to.

While these are amalgamated figures for the three stevedores, at the Port of Melbourne in May 2023, the number of containers handled (in TEU equivalents: i.e. recording a long 12.2 metre containers as 'two') declined to 222,753 from 238,722 in May 2022.

Both import and export volumes declined.

Unless QUB has fairly dramatically increased its market share - probably unlikely due to what can be the 'sticky' nature of contracts the container shipping operators have with stevedores - this has to be adverse for QUB.

I'm not ruling out another good result that beats lacklustre market expectations, but today's mention on 'The Australian' website of a very downbeat consumer survey by international researchers SEC Newgate suggests that the decline in import containers may intensify over coming months.
