The US fed say that any inflation will be transitory, which may or may not be true, but regardless the message is that they intend to keep bond yields low.
The fact is that they cannot increase yields while debt levels are so high, as it would lead to economic collapse, so they need to inflate the debt away first.
So high inflation and low bond yields equals negative real rates, which is bullish for gold.
That's the theory anyway. We should get an idea at 10.30 about when it starts......
