Jeff Kennett sold off stuff as there was not enough money in the till to pay the gov workers, that was how broke the incompetent Labor Gov had left the State that he took over
IMHO I don't believe that governments should give control of utilities to the private sector but when you can't pay your workers there may be no other option
But apart from that you did not answer the question as to what people owned companies would be disadvantaged by the closure of businesses that will never produce a profit in QLD
