M1 is a bottleneck heading down the coast when you get to the dreamworld area with mergers, 110k down to 20kph and the down at the end heading towards the border same again. Not good for a major 6 lane hwy.

Also linking the dams together is almost there now and just needs the final connectors for bulk water to drought proof areas.
