He's entitled to his views of course, but I for one don't agree with them.
It's like the Hicks matter. To me, the grub is a traitor. He was active in Afghanistan at the same time our troops were there. That is treason in my book, I don't care what technicality he gets off on. Forget whether the action of our troops was legal, illegal, moral, immoral, or whatever. No Australian citizen should be actively involved against our troops.
We have the right to peacefully demonstrate, agitate, and passively resist our government when we don't agree with what they are doing. No one gets hurt, no one gets killed, and governments do take notice when people power is focussed. That is the Australian way, not what he did.
There are people like Hicks, criminal gangs, radical islamists etc, for whom the normal laws of the land should not and can not apply.
We need hard, swift, judicial systems in place to rid ourselves of these grubs. Save the tears for starving kids or genuine cases of need. These mongrels are just oxygen thieves dragging us all down.
