Demand for lithium and battery components such as cathodes is expanding. Chinese companies are also struggling to keep up with supply of graphite the anodes.

The world's largest truck manufacturer, Daimler Trucks, rolled out the first fully electric trucks to fleet buyers this week. This is just the start of things to come, with more new gigafactories being built soon and new supply contracts for materials and components (eg lithium, graphite for the anodes and cathode parts).

The Tesla Truck release next month is likely to be a bigger media event.

Some recent developments with suppliers of raw materials and components battery for new battery factories are also linked below.

In lure of the above, LIT looks well placed to supply materials (eg graphite and lithium) and cathode components to other battery manufacturers, and/or build their own batteries. It is interesting that large European bank analysts now expect the components industry for batteries to have strong growth over the next decade.
