Saw it yesterday as well,
It was a Homage to the Spaghetti Western era of movies ( think Trinity movies, A fist full of dollars etc) It was meant to be taken tongue in cheek & i found it to be quite funny, but yes quite gory as well.
Great movie 8/10.
