Most (retail) brokers don't let you place trades much more than 10-20% away from last trade but not due to any ASX rule. It is at the discretion of the brokers. I have followed this up with the ASX before as these brokers really p@#$ me off when they refuse to place an order I wish to place. It almost cost me money one time but in the end and after a shouting match the broker took the hit instead. The purge rule is different, the ASX does have a rule on purging. Just not placing it in the first place. That is our manipulative brokers stopping us acting in the market as we wish.
Interesting if what you say is true simonj ... please try to find the reference ...
I am still trying to find a broker which will place the orders I wish without computer says no filters like the ones I have spoken to so far. If anyone knows one please let us all know.
