As I understand it it's a customised Xilinx FPGA for visual applications and there will be another FPGA to run JAST algorithms early 2018 (AKIDA FPGA) and an ASIC that runs JAST (AKIDA) later in 2018.

AKIDA (ie, patented neuromorphic IP + Jast algorithms) is supposed to be a general purpose neuromorphic processor - and generally faster. SOC can deal with 1's and 0's and then find the patterns (ie, it has integrated processing of data to convert into spikes for pattern recognition).

So I'm assuming you are asking about an ASIC - later in 2018.

I think - better ask the company.
