I am interested as to what FRS holders think about the proposed transaction with China Rail. If this transaction proceeds so that China Rail then owns 12% of FRS, wont this remove any takeover premium that may otherwse exist?
And wont it reduce the likelihood of FRS being able to do a deal with any of the existing Australian miners (eg BHP, Rio, FMG, AGO etc)?
Then again, if they have approached BHP etc and received an emphatic "Thanks, but no thanks" then maybe the chance of this ever happening was remote anyway.
