Question about dividends

question about dividend

say you buy a stock that’s paying 10% dividend and past dividend day drops 10% so you decide to sell for whatever reason
the dividend is 100% franked
so it’s a capital loss on the stock but do you pay tax on the dividend which is equal to your loss or is the dividend payment need to be considered for CGT ?
