yes.. there will be hydrocarbons/gas indications in this well as it drills through the target formations. absolutely 100%.
the formation has hydrocarbons present, any drilling done regionally would get the same hydrocarbon indications.. in other areas you can see there is flow where the formation had good porosity/permeability, the hydrocarbons that are present are in the form of gas. btw, this is not a new discovery, its an exploration well that is drilling a target formation known to be hydrocarbon laden in the region. as i said, if you drilled this formation anywhere in the region you would get hydrocarbon shows in those formations. but this formation needs to be charged, thats the first hurdle, then you have to test it to determine if it can possibly flow at any commercial rates, and it needs the right type of rock characteristics to be able to flow at commercial rates..
the first well intersected rock too tight to flow at commercial rates.
the question is will the second well find the same rock or not..
