Hi guys,
Just about to get into CFDs to test the waters.
A few questions;
- How are "financing costs" calculated particularly in reference to selling/shorting? Sometimes I see that you're credited the financing costs, and sometimes you're debited the costs, whereas if you buy/go long, you're always debited those financing costs (or overnight holding costs, whatever they're called)
- When are you "actually" allowed to opening positions? The brokers (IG and CMC) have indicated that these are 24 hours effective... I somehow doubt it. For example, if there was a huge red day on the Dow, naturally we'd expect a pullback (usually) on the ASX - my question is, are we allowed to, say, at 8am Sydney time place a short on the ASX? Or how are they going to treat my order?
Cheers
