I would say yes, but will accept a different answer from someone wit more experience.

Yes...and no. It would be an 'assumption' that based on the majority sentiment that a stock will go in a particular direction. But often they (stocks) have a mind of their own. So get your trading plan sorted out and your protection in place (stop losses etc) in case it goes against sentiment. So I understand that following the crowd seems logical and sensible but even the crowd gets it wrong. In the end the share price movement itself should be your final decider. (IMO)
