It takes approx 2 weeks from the moment you give the company your money to exercise your options till they are available to trade as fully paid shares. If in the mean time of converting your options to fully paid shares, the fully paid shares fall in price, you are in limbo until they are converted.
You can not hold the value up, unless you have big big big big pockets to keep the share price up by yourself.
