reply to ultra Thanks for your analysis Ultra - that was actually my original analysis as well, but what made me change was a review of the chart from a channeling perspective (ie drawing chanel trend lines).
This suggested that the move down from $32.46 was one wave (also implying that the W2 move from $29.02 was an ABC) and hence and extended third wave seem to "fit" better. This is the problem with EW and it is only when you get more price action that you can go back and correct your counts.
We should know by the end of the week which count fits better - maybe we should swap notes on this forum again next weekend and try and nut out where to next.
