The only reliable and sustainable long term renewable that should be used in an electricity grid is hydro power.
Hydro power is the only renewable that makes sense. Australia could produce more hydro power if water was captured in dams in northern QLD during the wet season.
The sad fact is that embracing renewables such as windmills and solar will only further destroy what industries/factories we have left in Australia. You only need to look at whats happening in Europe as factories close down, expertise is lost, jobs are lost forever.

The high cost of power, driven by the use of renewables is closing down factories in Europe and sending the wealth of the world to Asia.
