    That's what the WTO is useful for. Well, that was before the United States attacked it and essentially neutered it. A strong WTO could have been used to enforce legal tariffs on nations which refuse to meet emissions standards.

    You should be aware that many of these "high emission developing countries" are high emission largely because our corporations make the products we consume there. The very clothes on your back came from a high emission developing country.

    Developed countries will find it much easier to go low emission because we have money. Also, we don't have the "right" to shut down the economic development of poor countries that make our shoes, clothes, electronics, cars, etc.

    Emissions reductions must be negotiated and we need to lead by example. Good policy could make us energy independent and save us a lot of money. Conservatives are too short sighted to see the opportunities.
