IMO the "human pollution sceptics " are just not convinced that

A: the money raised from the CT will actually be used for conservation and not be just swallowed up in general revenue for the benefit of the political system and paying for more taxpayer funded trips around the world

B: After the last Ice Age global warming started about 100,000 years ago and is not a new thing

C: Certainly the huge increases in population growth will have had an effect on all types of pollution but as someone wrote on HC "issue condoms to fix the problem not a tax!"

D: The global warming / carbon tax is just a money making/political football which has nothing to do with the betterment of the environment

E: Not one politician has actually detailed a plan to show how all the environmental problems can be fixed or how the public can be protected from the increased costs which IMO will be equivalent to raising the GST to 20%

F: The thinking public is longer convinced by statements from politicians stating
"All the top scientists say that global warming caused by a massive increase in CO2 which is man made"

Everyone can read and research the web to find that there are very few that make those statements and just as many who state the opposite, there is a wealth of information for everyone to read and make up their own minds.
Global warming is real and we should address the problem but to say that if I take a 8 minute shower it will be the end of the world as we know it is ridiculous.

Life has been on this planet for billions of years and J Gillard is saying that we stuffed it up in the last 10 years, get real, it's been a slow downhill slide for thousands of years but now people can make money out of it
