I dont think the problem of "lapsed christians" is due to God.
Here at the christians celebrate the Rising of Jesus from the dead. At the same moment the curtain in the Temple was torn in 2. The temple curtain was 4 inches thick! It was to separate God Holy presence from man. Onc jesus rose and th curtain was torn, God removed the barrier, so any barrier is now what we put up.God has made a way.
So why are there lapsed Christians? I can sum it up like this imo only:

What Santa has done to Christmas, the "church has done to Christianity..that is commercialize it.

When churches observe "traditions..and or rituals" that are not in the bible..people are merely following man and not God at all.
So people get disillusioned , as often they cant conform to "mans " expectaions..then get it confused with Gods expectations....
No where in the bible does it say you cant use contraceptives, so why so many people in religion follow that??? Then blame others???
get back to basics..if you want to beleive in God ...see what his owners manuel says "the bible" and follow that...
