    Whoa! Slow down with the sensationalism Trevally. I agree with you that the deaths of five million people is tragic under any circumstance.

    While the catholic church may have a somewhat dated opinion in relation to the use condoms for contraceptive purposes this does not reduce the free availability of condoms in Africa.

    Do some research on aid groups in these parts of the world and you will find that condoms are freely available. Catholic people use them there just as they do here. It is just unfortunate that the prevalence of this terrible condition is higher in poor African nations. There are a range of reasons for this which include remoteness, accessibilty and education.

    Surely, if as you seem to believe, people do not wear condoms in Africa because of their catholic beliefs then it would follow that all catholics who die in Africa from AIDS-related illnesses are married as others would also strictly adhere to their faith and would not engage in pre-marital sex.

    Nice Christian/Catholic bash regardless.
