don't think for one moment that because some institutional dogma is perceived to be deceitful that there is no such thing as "hellfire and brimstone"
in a sense, even though "lapsed xtians" (btw that's a Contradictio in terminis - if you are a lapsed xtian, then you are not a xtian) such as bob dylan, had particular beliefs which they now no longer regard, there is elements of truth between the lines.
as bob dylan wrote, "It may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody"
if we treat other beings without consideration, we are creating the path to hell and then walking along it.
it's worthwhile to contemplate why that is so.
the consequences begin immediately, as john lennon's words, instant karma, suggest
it can be "funny" how a perception of a particular dogma may change
as seen from one perspective something may apper to be useless, or even wrong, but from another, quite valuable.
the story of garden of eden is just one example, there may just be more value in the myth than the supposed fact.
