I ran a presentation today for a Government Authority and used Nearmap to present a particular coastal location where we will be installing some offshore monitoring equipment. The Authority representatives were audibly impressed by what they saw, the resolution, clarity and timeframe function - it helped considerably with conveying concepts and agreeing project direction. However, the comment was made that they are not provided with access to Nearmap due to the cost. This is a major Victorian Authority, and potential source of revenue to NEA, which is not using the service. This is a frequent complaint that I hear from others I work with, and where access is provided, it is usually heavily restricted due to the data limits.
I wondered what other users thoughts and experiences were with this, and whether Nearmap needs to be more accessible to generate increased revenue growth?
