I gottabecareful after last years losses. CVN safer as a proven low cost producer with cash. You can measure it, predict it's likely future earnings, but you can't yet do that with OEX.
In this environment you have to really value the cash factor. CVN likely to add assets at bargain prices from surplus cashflow, OEX may yet pay a kings ranson (like PNA revealed today), or dilute further to develop it's opportunities.
That said if OEX gets it's ducks lined up it could have much more upside than CVN imho.
My current strategy is to watch for another opportunity to add CVN with the view like John that they don't need close watching (although I am willing to offload some - perhaps a quarter, to try to buy back cheaper if I feel it has run too far back up). With OEX willing to chance a few near current price, but really want to see more production/cashflow data.
