A. The US chosse not to stay involved B. It was never declared war C. The pt I think SJ was making was if they had prosecuted the military option in the way that allowed the military to do its job - without the politicians and peace-movement - the action would have been successfully accomplished
and D.The fact of the matter is, as a result of their TET offensive which failed....and they were on the verge of giving it up.....,they were so heartened by the political reaction in the US they perservered and worked on their new plan.
