    Kerriemel;

    I do not earn a living from trading, i have a great job that offers heaps of travel (currently in Oman) and plan on trading a fraction of my net worth when i hit 50 odd.

    Snaks point of trading shares you have an influence on is a good point and he has helped me personally with one share (referring to me as the "alpha male" on one stock). However i have made better money trading 7% swings in blue chips. This requires you to look for and understand the patterns of maybe 2-5max companies. I used to trade VBA, have traded ALL more recently and am looking at trading CDU. VBA and more recently ALL have VERY CONSISTANT weekly trading ranges. Just dont try to pick the top and bottom.

    As for jumping on the bandwagon of the big daily movers, too much risk for me.

    However, i have made more money, hand over fist doing nothing other than finding companies with sound long term economics that pay dividends and buying at the right price. ie MAP, BSL, ARG and WOR.

    All the best.

    Bacchus
