He bailed cause his free ride was over. When he took over there were lots of tasty shallow oxide deposits to pillage and boy did he pillage them. Now they need to make some decision regarding how to progress when you can't just shove boatloads of oxide in the mill and the mill isn't set up for fresh ore. He wasn't up to the next task IM no doubt unpopular O so bailed.
