Many people of Aboriginal background have expressed outrage and shock at the action of a few, as any decent person would.
I don't like the Aussie flag and the history of how it is comprised. I would love a new flag BUT this flag is one that represents the Australian Nation. It is just a piece of cloth but the act of burning it is an action of disrespect.
I would not burn their flag for that reason - why be disrespectful to the many for the actions of a few?
The ones that did this act are uncouth grubs who just happen to be Aboriginal but they are grubs nevertheless IMO.
The penalty for the act is clear - we now know they are grubs and that they will probably always be.
