QAN has 1.945 billion shares on issue. Since Monday afternoon it has dropped from 2.45 to 1.90.
Do the maths.
$1.07 billion wiped of Qantas shareholder net worth.
And most of the placement goes to the shorters - they are the ones with cash in hand to buy the new shares.
