I've never held a biotech stock right through to commercialisation but I have held plenty during their journeys through to commercialisation. This time in the life of a biotech is where IMO the lowest risk gains can be made and generally the announcements made are all progress rather than product killers. The bad thing with many biotechs is the length of time between such announcements which naturally is due to lengthy trials, approvals etc. SBN are unusual in that they are close to final product with few barriers but plenty of announcements due in fairly quick succession and low risk of any if these announcements preventing them reaching final product.

In SBNs latest quarterly they basically spelt out what they'd be doing in the December quarter and in last weeks presentation (their first presentation for years I think) they showed what they expect to happen from now until march/April next year- their Oraline product launch.

There's two ways I'm looking at this with my glass half full:
    1) a superior product launches, gains market share in USA, Europe and or Asia, and everyone is happy
    2) the product launches but doesn't gain market share. In the meantime however there have been a number of announcements which have driven the share price higher, such as finalization of designs, patent procurement, manufacturing agreements, distributors, etc

For me personally this is a short/medium term hold (1-2 months) but I'll be re-assessing whether I hold after each announcement. The last week was a good start with 3 important Ancs: manufacturing partnership; appointment of Dr Anton; and the presentation.
