It's not the worst idea to keep a few stacks a bills handy, regardless of fear of bank failure.
How many times have individual banks electronic systems collapsed for a few hours, imagine if it happened to all the networks simultaniously and lasted a number of days. It is really not that big of a stretch to see it happening...
The panic on peoples faces when they realise they don't have $1 to their name without the electronic system is priceless if you've ever seen it.
Plus, if you use cash you can rock a money clip!
